4 years later it's more beautiful it's more boring as time goes on the game still lacks a dynamic campaign modules like the viper and hornet are close to leave early access, but it feels so unfinished in comparison to the bms viper development is terrible slow in ED side. 1 month to have few fixes and tons of new bugs. no features at all regret every penny

Get yourself the cracked version of DCS. It is only 2.7, and there has been huge changes since then. It is the best to decide which modules to buy first, taking the opportunity of the full 50% first purchase discount. Allows you to plan your first setup better. You could enjoy it with a second hand cheap joystick without feeling guilty of not making use of the hundreds spent on DCS modules. Then slowly plan out to buy your hotas, rudder, VR/head tracking, pc.... When you feel your setup and interests is worth the expensive modules, buy them. Don't think much about the free month. It is not the same freedom of piracy.

Ive got one tip: dont buy it.

this video is very nicely done and nicely explained, I don't have this helicopter and I don't plan to have it because I already have a ka-50-III, which is the term for this one, only that real pilots don't use it properly and virtual ones too, it would be nice to make a video for ka-50 if you have it 😁😁🤗🤗🍻🍻

DCS lags a shit ton of player friendly stuff such as controles... WarThunder does a way better job of keeping it simple and also we don't have to set up controles for every single plane/heli in WarThunder unlike DCS

The BMS is a real combat flight simulator and The DCS is a cockpit simulator with good graphic.

Your points of argument may not be aging well. Now nearly 5 years hence, DCS still is no where near getting a Dynamic campaign, but BMS is addressing the shortfalls you mentioned. So, in short: DCS is still a... "hot, but beautiful mess", while BMS may be old it still has a loyal following, with a dynamic campaign, and most of all... it is FREE! (...and not an $80 beta version!)

If it’s just about buttons on the HOTAS I’m certain a mouse with enough buttons would suffice? Can you map CTRL and SHIFT in combination with the mouse?

The prop jobs by your own definition are fighter aircraft. The wobblin goblin has a f designation because it was meant to be an air superiority penetrator and right up until the time it was retired it was capable of carrying internal air-to-air missiles but at the time there was no way of targeting another aircraft without being detected. Anytime it had to penetrate into a combat area all sensors including radar where shut off. The F-22 has one air-to-air kill and it was a balloon . The F-22 only carries a small amount of defensive weapons inside. Its primary role was supposed to be Target designation which is one of the reasons it doesn't have a murder configuration like the F-35.

Appreciate how you explained things in this. I found other videos just made me feel more intimidated/overwhelmed being a new pc player but the second you explained about your friends being slower learners and feeling the same way and then enjoying the f16 was exactly what I needed to hear to start learning the game and feel confident I’m in good hands

It's crazy how hard it is to find a starting guide on just how to fly. It seems like every "beginner" video is about the software itself, the mods the hardware, etc. Meanwhile, I just want to figure out what flaps and rudders do.

Easiest plane to enjoy and have fun/learn quickly either the f15c or the mig 25 from the flaming cliffs modules. I’d say it’ll take you (from day 1 and about 2hrs minimum to play) it’ll take about 2-3 weeks to become proficient enough to take it through some campaign missions and about a month - month and a half to be successful in online games They aren’t high fidelity but it’s as close to a “casual” experience as you’ll get outta the game. And if you prefer more CAS roles either just Learn the free su-25 or get the warthog from modules FC3 and go to town. Warthog is better but su-25 is still good and you’ll have fun learning it no doubt

VR tip: always hydrated and not on empty stomach also put a little desk fan on the table. Air will help.

Using an X-55 so most of the same basic buttons and axis's as the X-56. I see mention of tying a button to a recogised button descriptor in DCS but is there an overview of what functions these buttons perform on the majority of aircraft? Flaps? Landing gear? Flares? Chaff? Weapon activate, select, fire?

Thank you for walking through this. This is the part of BMS that confusing the ever loving heck out of me - but this is also the part of BMS that I really like as it adds a load of immersion. The mission and package prep, the planning, the ability to export plan to HTML and open it in your iPad to keep with you. *chef's kiss*

Only problem how to use weapons when pilot without auto pilot it must be impossible, even the cannon in pilot seat didnt have sights. This was a fun chopper in Operation Flashpoint cold war crisis!
